I have young children with really early schedules, so it is hard for my hubby and I to get a sitter and go out.
Last night I made the kids' dinner separate, got them ready and in bed.
Then I put my heels on and cooked dinner for my hubby. I used the nice dishes, serve the meal in separate course. We got to have a healthy, cheap, candle lit, restaurant style dinner, in our own home. We spent about $6 on our date night, and that includes the children's meals.
Instead of paying $20 to go to the theater to see a new movie, we snuggled up and watched an older movie.
It is always nice to have make-up on, hair done, and dressed nicely for a date night in. This is simply to make your man feel special. By you going through all the work to look nice, "just to stay home", tells your man that he is worth the extra time and effort, no matter where you are.
I also like to change into outfits that I know my hubby likes, this shows him that I pay attention to his interests and opinions.
If you are a little braver, you can try cooking in lingerie or in nothing more than a sexy pair of heels!!
Date night...in
Try something, or someone new!
I thought I would post about something I have tried.
Just after Halloween I like to go into the stores for their clearance shopping, to pick up things I can use for visual satisfaction. I have gotten outfits, shoe covers, accessories, and even wigs. This gives me the chance to role play a little, right in my own home! I can go with simple ideas like a maid, a nanny, a tutor, or even as wild as a hooker!
One evening, after our children were in bed and asleep, my hubby was downstairs in his office, so I got dress up in.....a corset, miniskirt, thigh high boots, and a wig. I walked to the basement stairs and hollered to him that someone was here, and that I didn't know who it was. When he got to the top of the stairs and saw me he.....well had instant visible reactions! We had fun all over the house that night!
I asked him the next morning, just before work, how his visit from the previous night went. This pulled that thought to the front of his memory and he thought about it all the next day!
Trimming the hedges
Word play is always fun when talking to your man! Today I had an accidental word play when talking to my Hubby on the phone.
I called my Hubby at work to ask him what he uses when he trims the hedges. By my surprise he replied, "What do YOU use to trim the hedges?" Thinking about the yard work I was in the middle of I asked, "Don't we have an electric trimmer?" He then replied, "Yes, but I thought you just use a razor." I gave up on the conversation at that point, it was hopeless!
After trimming 3 bushes, I checked my cell phone, he had called...twice. Returning his call, he answered asking, "Are you trimming those hedges to the ground or are you going to leave a landing strip?" After giggling, I tried changing the topic, and asked him to grab taco shells on his way home. He lost it! I couldn't resist and told him, "That's right, I am trimming the hedges and you get tacos tonight!"
He enjoyed his "taco" so much more than usual!
